24/25 Gameweek 4

The lowest average score of the season so far is largely reflected in the scores in our league with a couple of exceptions, Philip top scored with 85 which helped him jump up 8 places to 3rd overall on 290 points. A triple up on Man Utd players accounted for 26 points with the gameweek’s joint top scoring player Matthijs De Ligt bagging 15 alone. Captain Haaland and Mateta added a further 39 points for him. Pilch came in with the second best score of the week at 71 points, thanks to captain Haaland and the double up at the back for Arsenal along with a return to form for Ollie Watkins. Christian got 67 points and was the third highest scorer of the week, thanks largely to Haaland captain, Watkins and Saka. Nathan displaced Will at the top of the league with a decent score of 65.

17 of our managers matched or beat the average in week 4 and there were 4 Wildcards played and one Triple captain chip which unfortunately backfired spectacularly for Scott as he chose the first week of the season that Mo Salah blanked to play it. Only one of our Wildcarders managed to meet the average for the week so those managers will be hoping the future is a little brighter for their selections.

The Champion’s League returns this week in it’s new format with Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool all facing away games, while Man City are at home to Inter. The EFL Cup also has fixtures coming up midweek with Everton playing Southampton and Brighton playing Wolves while Spurs, Fulham, and Crystal Palace are on their travels with Man Utd and Brentford staying at home against lower league opposition. Plenty of games for Premier league teams then and potential for injuries but also some squad rotation in future games.
