Nathan begins 2025 in top spot gaining 70 points in the week with captain Mo Salah bringing home 32 points alone, his total added to by Josko Gvardiol, Tyler Dibling, Morgan Rogers and Alexander Isak. Up to second goes David with 86 points on the week and just a single point behind first place. His captain Salah’s points came alongside returns from Virgil Van Dijk, Lewis Hall, Pedro Porro, Antonee Robinson, Luis Diaz and Chris Wood. Luciano has slipped to third overall after scoring 69 this week, his points coming from captain Salah, Wood, Isak and Van Dijk. Joel took a four point hit to get joint top score of 96 for the week with Pilch using his Bench Boost to gain 9 points extra for the same total. His points came from Ola Aina, Gvardiol, Rogers, Dejan Kulusevski, captain Salah, Ollie Watkins, Erling Haaland (remember him?) and Martin Dubravka.
Pilch’s Bench Boost wasn’t the only chip played last week as Lou played her Triple Captain chip on Cole Palmer and 60 points total (eek), Mike played a Bench Boost gaining an extra 17 points for 90 in total and finally Dave played Triple Captain on Mo Salah to gain 78 points overall. A further five managers opted for points hits with Fraser, Chris, i11usiveMan and Joel sacrificing four points and Kev back to his old ways taking eight points.
Fixtures return to something near normal from Saturday onward, Gameweek 20 sees several players suspended for picking up their fifth yellow card of the season last week and an extension to the threshold for receiving a ban to a two match ban for accumulating 10 cards in 32 games. Gameweek 20 also sees the second Wildcard chip become available, will anyone be tempted to use it early? (Yes, probably, maybe, couldn’t possibly say for sure)
