24/25 Gameweek 26

Joel remains top on 1768 points but the gap has been cut to just five points as David scored 93 while Joel scored 85. Luciano and Luis both scored 99 and remain fourth and fifth with only ten points covering the top four. Joel’s 85 points came from Assistant Manager Unai Emery, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Daniel Munoz, Chris Wood, Alexander Isak and captain Mo Salah. David also had Isak and Salah, but chose to captain Bryan Mbeumo and got returns from Mark Flekken, Lewis Hall, Virgil Van Dijk, Jean Phillipe Mateta and Yoanne Wissa. Luciano’s 99 points came from Dean Henderson, Munoz, Alexander-Arnold, captain Salah, Mbeumo, Isak, Wood and Matheus Cunha. Our top score of the week was 108 points from Adam but he took an eight point hit so the biggest gainer of the week was Mark with 104. His total score coming from captain Salah, Assistant Manager Emery, Hall, Mbeumo, Cunha, Isak and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Two Wildcards were played in this week, i11usiveMan and Daisy both fancied a change and scored 74 and 83 respectively. Viewtiful Spurs went with the Bench Boost chip to score 79. We now have fifteen managers on the Assistant Manager chip as Pilch activated the chip this week and opted for Ange Postecoglou and duly got ten points from him. Most of the other fourteen assistants were on their last week, Lou and Tim kept faith with Arne Slot and received ten points. Chris, Mike, Gary and Matt stuck with David Moyes for five points. Luis and Adam chased the table points bonus and switched to Oliver Glasner and were rewarded with twenty points. Neil switched to Thomas Frank and got 12 points while, Dave, Joel, Christian, Sam and Mark all kept Unai Emery for his eight points. It’s been controversial to say the least but the Assistant Manager chip has proven to be very powerful if played aggressively and things go your way and even if played safe at the right time it can still be very rewarding going for a safe option like Arne Slot, baring in mind he had five games over the three gameweeks since the chip became available he returned 38 points during that time.

Gameweek 27 kicks off Tuesday evening and ends on Thursday with a resurgent West Ham entertaining(?) lowly Leicester. At the weekend it’s back to FA Cup action with a few teams having the weekend off after being knocked out previously, while some players may be getting a rest as their teams take on lower league opposition. With four all Premier League fixtures in this round of the cup, we will definitely be closer to seeing what blank and double gameweeks will be coming down the line for those that have chips to play.
