With just two weeks of the season remaining we have a new leader, and second place, as David has finally been toppled by both Adam and Joel. Adam’s net gain of 58 points was enough to put him top on 2362, he took a four point hit but had good returns from Alphonse Areola, Daniel Munoz, Josko Gvardiol, Ebereche Eze and captain Bryan Mbeumo. Joel also opted for the four point hit and also had Areola, Munoz, Gvardiol and Mbeumo along with Jarrod Bowen, Morgan Rogers and Chris Wood. Tim’s Kwazy Kupcakes FC was top scorer of the week with a very nice 69, Tim played the Bench Boost chip but only scored an extra seven from there, thankfully his starting XI contained Munoz, Morgan Gibbs-White, Jacob Murphy, Mbeumo and captain Wood (of course).
Other chips were played this week by Lou (Wildcard), ChipperSpice Triple captained Bukayo Saka for six points (eek), Phil played a Free Hit for 49, Angelo had Nuno Espirito Santo as his Assistant Manager for an extra five points, and finally, Nathan had Pep Guardiola as his Assistant also gaining five points. In additition to Adam and Joel, four others took a four point hit on the week with varying success, Andy gained a net 59, Christian 54, Neil 44, and Luis 36.
Wins in the cup for Fraser, Andy, Adam and Tim mean our Semi Finals line up like this,
Fraser vs Andy
Adam vs Tim
The penultimate gameweek kicks off on Friday evening with Spurs away at Aston Villa and Man Utd away at Chelsea before their midweek meeting in Bilbao to decide the worst Premier League team to qualify for next season’s Champion’s League in the Europa League final. No Premier League games on Saturday as the FA Cup final takes centre stage with Crystal Palace taking on Man City. An extended gameweek concludes on Tuesday evening as said finalists take on Wolves and Bournemouth respectively. A tricky week to navigate with potential for squad rotation and injuries to crop up mid gameweek, good luck to all.
