A belter of a week for Chris sends him top of the league, his 86 points was well above the average of 51 and 25 points clear of the next biggest scorers in our league, Christian and Dave. He made the wise decision to captain Joao Pedro who netted him 30 points alone, but the hits kept coming with returns from Viktor Gyokeres, Cody Gakpo, Marc Cucurella, James Tarkowski, Micky Van de Ven and David Raya.
Luis is the first manager to play a chip this season and opted for a Bench Boost to gain 56 points, the late omission of Cole Palmer from Chelsea’s 5-1 demolition of West Ham must have been infuriating as he looked set for a big haul.
Teams not involved in European competition have EFL Cup games this midweek so there’s opportunities for some players to pick up form but there’s always a risk of injuries, so early transfers can be problematic, tempting though they may be. Gameweek 3 will be the last game before the first International break of the season and potential Wildcard window.
