Neil stays top and extends his lead slightly with an underwhelming seven points coming from the Bench Boost chip. His 65 points was top score and was largely down to Dorde Petrovic, Marcos Senesi, Antoine Semenyo, Mohammed Kudus, captain Mo Salah, Jean Phillipe Mateta and Erling Haaland. Luis’ team has a fair amount of crossover with Neil’s and effectively scored the same points but there was no Bench Boost for Luis and his 58 points. It was a relatively low scoring week and ten managers beat or matched the average of 42 points.
Adam was another manager to play their Bench Boost chip and gained an extra six points from it, down in 21st place Mark played a Wildcard in an attempt to turn around their fortunes but it was a disappointing start with just 28 points but he could be considered unfortunate as Chelsea somewhat imploded against Man Utd and it seems Cole Palmer is not as fit as we were led to believe. i11usiveMan took a twelve point hit to bring in big hitters Bruno Fernades and Erling Haaland with non playing enablers Axel Tuanzebe and Ayden Heaven. Jake opted for a four point hit to bring in Haaland and Sessegnon at the expense of Fernandes and Beto.
Twelve teams will take part in EFL Cup action this midweek and both Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest will embark on their European adventures in the Europa League before Premier League action returns on Saturday with Brentford vs Man Utd and closes with Everton vs West Ham on Monday evening.
