Neil finally picked the right eleven from his squad and scored 55 points for the week to extend his lead at the top and now sits on 1431 overall, shame he went with Erling Haaland as captain for his one point from the bench. Fraser scored 42 and picked Antoine Semenyo as his captain. Last week’s big scorer returned to Earth with a bump as he scored 34 points for the week with captain James Tarkowski gaining him eight points. Best score of this week came from Chris, he tied with Kev but the latter took an eight point hit to get there. Chris’ team gained Micky Van de Ven’s 7, Virgil van Dijk’s 9, Marc Guehi’s 6, Harry Wilson’s 10, Matheus Cunha’s 9, Jarrod Bowen’s 12 and his Triple Captain Erling Haaland’s … 3.
The aforementioned Kev also played his Triple Captain chip, but on Antoine Semenyo for a total of 24, Mark played his Bench Boost for an additional 14 points out of the 55, i11usiveMan also played the Bench Boost for one extra point of his 44. Finally Mike played his Wildcard and kicked things off with a 28 pointer (oof) he made six changes and will be hoping for better scores moving forward. In addition to Kev, two other managers took points hits, with Matt and Andy making two changes for a four point hit.
This coming midweek sees the final round of Champion’s League and Europa League fixtures before the knockout phase begins. Five of the six Premier League clubs in the Champion’s League are currently in the top eight and any teams that do finish there will be pleased to have a couple of extra midweeks off in the future as they will miss taking part in the “Punishment Round” of qualifiers for the last sixteen. Aston Villa are safely through to their last sixteen match in the Europa League and Nottingham Forest have a slim chance of joining them, however it looks more likely they will have to got through an extra knockout round.
